Throughout the years of electrode jointing, men have struggled laboriously with heavy and cumbersome wreches in an effort to torque graphite electrodes to the manufacturer's recommended specification. These wrenches have provided a subadequate solution as mills have experienced incorrect torque resulting in increased column breakage, loss of efficiency, and back-breaking labor. At CIS, understanding our clients specific needs for an application has continued to be a spark for innovation. Our latest development the "Aluminum Electrode Torque Wrench" offers a complete solution to the above mentioned disadvantages. Constructed out of a lightweight aluminum, this wrench can be handled easily and accurately. Unlike some previous (and potentially dangerous) wrenches that offer a "snapping" effect when proper torque has been met, directly built into the aluminum frame the user can easily view a display complete with color-coded LED's that signify that the desired torque has been met, torque has been exceeded, and also one that denotes the battery needs recharging. Through these functions the user can be confident that the electrodes are torqued properly and will experience less down time due to breakage. Available sizes range from 10" electrodes to 18" electrodes. Please view the line sheet at the bottom of the page to see further information.
